Le Dr Osler a été l’un des principaux médecins qui a permis de sortir la médecine de l’époque victorienne où les médecins pensaient à leurs patients d’une manière abstraite et où ces professionnels passaient la plupart de leur temps dans les conférences et les laboratoires d’anatomie.
